Coffee

Yesterday, I woke up and went to have coffee (well, the daily special tea and a mango pineapple smoothie) with my friend Amanda (of Anda Marie Photography).  It was great to catch up with her since I hadn't seen her in a while.  We used to work together in the Teacher Education Library at UW.  She has been working as a professional photographer for a few years, and was able to share some of her insight.  When discussing some of her bookings for the season, we realized that we're both shooting traditional Persian Weddings  this summer, both located on farms.  I'm very excited to be shooting this wedding this spring and to be able to share in a bride and groom's special day.  It's a great feeling to know that I'll be capturing the intricacies and expressions that will help them to relive this day for the rest of their lives.  In honor of our "coffee date", I'm posting an image I took at a cafe while I was studying in a photojournalism program in Paris.  At the time, I wasn't much of a coffee drinker, but here's to the hope of another coffee date in the near future.

Here goes nothing!

Well, I've finally launched my first blog as a place to reflect on and learn from my experiences as a photographer.  I have been dragging my feet a little bit because I have been a little nervous.  However, I decided that I wanted to overcome my hesitations and begin my blog before summer.  I know things won't always flow smoothly, but the hardest step is usually the first.  So here's to a new and exciting adventure!
